The Sacramento Grand Prix, September 10th

On September 10, 2011 Sacramento hosts the reborn Sacramento Grand Prix.

The sports BEST short-course riders will compete in the Grand Prix “the developing 2012 women’s Olympic team, and future stars of cycling all coming together in the crescendo of this year’s competitive season. As the third and final leg of Project Sport’s Triple Crown”.

Men & women can register for this Grand Prix until September 8th.  Register online here.

The official after-party will be held at the Ten-22 restaurant bar  Ten-22 was selected as Sacramento’s Best New Restaurant in 2010, so you will have a great time at the party.  Directions to Ten-22 and a map are here

Coming to Sacramento for the Grand Prix??

Road closure info September 10th:  The Sacramento Bee has an article today on the downtown street closure for the 2011 Sacramento Grand Prix.  Thanks @SacBee

“Closures will affect the rectangle formed by L, N, 10th and 15th streets,  beginning around 11:30 a.m. and lasting until 9 p.m.

Additional parking controls will affect surrounding streets, as well.

The race will draw hundreds of amateur and professional riders to ride in  criterium heats that start at 1:50 p.m.”
