The 2013 Sacramento Bacon Fest

The 2013 Sacramento Bacon Fest is coming up in January.

How can anyone not like bacon?  It legitimately adds the post flavor to a dish than any other single ingredient.  I don’t care….salt, sugar, just nothing ramps the flavor level like good old pork fat!

When:                       January 20th to January 27th, 2013

Where:                     Various Sacramento locations

How can a Bacon Festival last for a whole dang week?  By having a lot of different activities including a Chef’s Challenge, a big Opening Night Party, a Kid’s Challenge, events and dinners and laughably the best activity of the week:   the 2nd Annual Kevin Bacon Tribute Night

Most of the events are free and even those that have a charge are inexpensive enough that most folks can attend.

Sacramento MoFo Five, July 21, 2012

Sacramento MoFo5 will land at 8th & W Streets on Saturday, July 21st!

MoFo is a joint mobile food truck/vendor event in Sacramento with all of Sacramento’s best food trucks as well as the up and coming vendors.  And remember:  Sacramento had two trucks in the Top 10 of the recent Food Channel‘s Great Food Truck Race!

The MoFo will feature more than two dozen trucks and vendors in one site plus a beer garden, live music, arts & crafts and a kids video game truck.

Be ready, because there will also be between 8,000 and 10,000 hungry, thirsty people on hand!

When:             Saturday, July 21st

Noon to 4pm

Where:            8th & W Street underneath the Highway 50 freeway  A map is here

The confirmed list of vendors and trucks will be announced soon.

July 21st:

Sac MoFo V is huge success—Thousands are drawn to the mobile food fair under a Sacramento freeway on a day with the temperatures hovering at 101 degrees!

City regulations require that vendors return to their original location for cleaning. That prevents many vendors from attending a two-day event.

“Maybe in three to four years with the regulations getting easier we can have a SactoMoFo that lasts a whole weekend,” Lurie-Terrell said.”
